Brain Training - Ever Done It?
We all know about the benefits of training. To get better at anything we need to train. There's weight training, basketball training, football training, net-ball training, hockey training, cross training - training for everything.
At some stage all of us have trained in something. Many of us jog, pump weights, perform aerobic exercises, walk and do all sorts of things to train the muscles of the body to become bigger, stronger, fitter and more capable for a chosen sport or pursuit.
We all know about the value of exercising our bodies. But how many of us train our brains? Hmm. Brain training. Interesting. "What's that?" I hear you ask.
Let me start by saying that your mind manifests what comes to pass in your life. Put simply - we are what we dwell upon most of the time. You have probably heard such famous sayings as:
"As a man thinketh so is he" and "What the mind can conceive and believe the body will achieve" and "Whether you think you can or whether you think you cannot, either way you are right". It's a very complex thing this organ we call our brain.
So, back to the subject at hand - how do you train your brain? You can't take it for a walk. It cannot pump weights. You can't take a pill or a potion to make yourself instantly smarter. What can you do?
First, understand this - your brain is THE most powerful muscle in your body. Unfortunately, for most, it is also the most neglected muscle in the body.
Your brain directs everything that you do - physical, mental and spiritual. You want to walk - the brain makes this possible. You want to talk - the brain makes that possible too. You want to engage in sport - the brain synchronizes all the muscles to allow you to do so. You want to do a crossword puzzle - the brain caters for that too. It also allows multiple actions. For example your brain makes it easy for you to walk, swing your arms, hum a tune and chew gum all at the same time. The brain is indeed all-powerful.
Training the brain requires thinking about your life and being determined to make the necessary changes to make things better for yourself. I prefer to think of the brain as a super computer. If you are not achieving the results that you want you always have the option of "re-programming" your "on-board computer."
If you want to re-program your brain you will need the correct software for the task. Like a regular computer it would be pointless to expect a word processing program to perform a particular mathematical function. For that you would need a spreadsheet program. Your brain is the same. When you know how to do this you will be amazed at how easy and powerful it is. Let me give you some examples:
Let's say you want more discipline in your life - enter the discipline disk. You want more success? Easy - enter the success disk. What about your weight? Have you ever wanted to reduce your weight? Most people have. Plug in the weight disk. Whatever area of your life needs improvement you can re-program your brain to do it.
Brain training is like body training - it will improve whatever outcome you desire. Try it. You can learn much more about this at my website.

Thank You, Ah Mah!
The rebel years are over. The phase of contradiction and compulsive behavior comes to a grinding but definitive halt. The act of pure impulse sometimes becomes impossible.
You?re older.
I must admit, even in front of my own parents, I have admitted that I have been nothing short of a hell-raiser. Running away from home, staying over at boyfriend?s face, kicking the hell out of my own sister, engaging in drunken cat-fights with friends, fist-fighting with my brother, word-battles with my father, thinking I was right when I was irrefutably wrong??.the list can go on.
Whatever a daughter can do wrong, I did.
But these are the activities, decisions, and memories that have helped shape me into the person that I am today. I have 2 wonderfully amazing and perfect boys to call my own. They look up to me, adore me and even when I think I am a little psycho, they think I am hilarious! The innocence??.I am not yet a perfect person today but I can proudly say that I have become closer to perfect....in my personal opinion, that is. Age does this to people.
When people think I should keep a job, I left it. When people think I should not be in a relationship, I engaged in. When people thought I should just shut up, I spoke up. When people thought I should be more feminine, I kick out and punch around like a crazy woman on drugs! When people thought I should forgive, I am revengeful. When people think I should forget, I remember. Gosh, when people think I should remember (like where I placed my keys), I don?t.
With that said, I look at my own parents and wonder how many of my decisions have made them into the older people that they are. How many of my rebellions have added an extra crease to their foreheads? How many of my shouting matches have given my parents wrinkles and white hairs? Only when you?re older, you realize that ?Heck, I wasn?t such a smartass, was I???and there I was, all of 16, thinking I was adult-enough to make my own decisions.
If I had a daughter like me, I would have done things to her (and/or myself) that I will live to regret!Thankfully, I don?t. I don?t have a daughter, period!! (Someone up there loves me, after all)
I spoke very briefly on the phone with my aging and lonely grandmother today ??and this blog is a result of that conversation.
To say I have regretted my actions and decisions when I was younger is an understatement. We all don?t know how long she has to live on this planet anymore ??but one thing is for sure, it won?t be for long. Oh, she?s not really ill or anything. She?s happy (in a very lonely kind of way) and healthy (in an old kind of way) but she certainly has her own regrets as well. I guess a lot of the things that I did in the past were uncalled for and when she did things out of the goodness of her heart, I wasn?t appreciative because I was too self-centered and obnoxious. I ruled the world, didn?t I?
I don?t know how long more the tenure of her stay here on earth has before it expires, but I hope she will take good memories with her down or up to wherever she?s going after the expiration of her stay here.
Thank you, ah mah.

League Two Betting Review - 13 February 2006
Grimsby Town are the new leaders of League Two after beating Boston United 1-0 at Blundell Park. Michael Reddy?s goal after 72 minutes was enough to secure the Mariners??second win in a row at odds of 9/10.
Last week?s leaders Carlisle United were held to a tense goalless draw at promotion rivals Leyton Orient. Draw backers could have got on at 23/10 with Carlisle now two points behind Grimsby.
Third placed Wycombe Wanderers fought back from two goals down at home to draw 2-2 with relegation strugglers Mansfield Town. Jon Olav-Hjelde and Richie Barker put the Stags 2-0 ahead after 33 minutes, but goals from Tommy Mooney and Stefan Oakes denied an unlikely 9/2 away victory.
Northampton Town squandered the chance to move in to the top three by losing 3-1 at Cheltenham Town. Steve Guinan, Kayode Odejayi and JJ Melligan ensured a home win at 6/4.
Rushden & Diamonds refuse to go down without a fight and Petr Miklonda?s 30 yard strike gave them all three points against Notts County. Barry Hunter?s side, 8/5 on the day, have lost just one of their last five games.
Bottom club Stockport County also earned a vital win at faltering Chester City. Liam Dickinson broke the deadlock for County after 76 minutes but Ryan Lowe equalised for City five minutes later. With the match heading for a draw Dickinson grabbed the vital 5/2 winner a minute from time to keep the Hatters just one point from safety.
Meanwhile, Torquay United remain in deep trouble after losing 2-0 at Lincoln City. Scott Kerr after 12 minutes and a last minute goal from Jeff Hughes secured a 5/6 win for the Imps.
Macclesfield Town vs Wrexham, Rochdale vs Barnet and Bury vs Oxford were all called off due to frozen pitches.

Soccer Team Positions and Strategies With 3-5-2 Set Up
3-5-2,
Defense;
3, defenders,
These three are very confident that they can handle a lone striker or two forwards. They are also reliant on a good defensive midfield.
On the attack these players will play wide positions. On the defense these players will be more compact and allow the outside midfields to aid in the wider positions.
At times the inside mid-fielders will "show" for the ball. This creates an additional attack from the centre of the pitch as the mid-fielders become out let players. They are trying to convert the play by maintaining possession.
5, midfielders,
Two outside/wing players who dominate the sides of the field. They also act as attackers creating many scoring opportunities for their teams.
These are hard working players and a usually super-fit. However sometimes after a few runs on the side these can switch with inside players for a rest.
If this is possible, the team can keep their opponents confused and always looking for changing plays and positions.
This type of positonal play can not be defended by a man on man team defense. This requires a good zone defense and a constantly communicative team.
The 2 inside players are usually defensive in their roles but will become part of the attack when their team has possession. They will generally use the central midfielder to create plays and control the tempo of the game.
The single central midfielder is usually the one who makes the play and communicartes to the team the attacking possibilities.
This individual can also be considered the captal of the team.
Forwards;
These are the main ggoooooooooooalll scoring machines. The ones who react to the ball quickly and are able to shoot from any place on the field. These individuals are also trying to create space for each other and many more scoring opportunities.
To be effective they should work closely together as a team and pair. To this extent they are sometimes called "twin strikers".
They are also responsible for creating space by making the defenders mark them.
They make the defense leave their zonal resposibilities whereby taking them "out of the game".
The strikers also make the defenders tired because of the level of concentration that the defenders have to deal with.
